Lancashire and Cheshire Collie Club Open Show, 8th<\/sup> October 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge today and looking after me very well.\u00a0 Thanks also to my lovely steward who was very helpful and efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smooth Collies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Puppy Dog (3, 1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup> Seager\u2019s Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost 12 month old shaded sable puppy, correct dentition, lovely well placed eye, correctly placed stop.\u00a0 Clean wedge both from above and in profile.\u00a0 Earset good and ears tipped correctly and well used. Long neck leading into well placed shoulder, chest needs to drop a little yet but that will happen with maturity.\u00a0 Neat feet on well boned, strong legs.\u00a0 Level topline with slight rise over loin, tail set on well and of good length.\u00a0 Rear angulation very good. Movement \u2013 very slight plaiting at front today in his class but improved in the challenge, great drive from the rear.\u00a0 BD & RBOB<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd<\/sup> Leavesley\u2019s Lizoni Lone Ranger<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten month old tricolour, lovely clean head with good stop and underjaw, dark eyes well placed, earset spot on and ears tipped correctly and well used.\u00a0 Back skull good leading into neck of reasonable length.\u00a0 Good front angulation coupled with great depth of chest. Strong, well boned legs.\u00a0 Level topline, could use a little more length, leading into slight rise over loin, well set tail of good length.\u00a0 Another with great rear angulation.\u00a0 Movement a bit erratic and unsettled today, but I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll become more together as he ages. RBD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup> Holmes, Holmes & Lusty\u2019s Blamorder Makers Mark<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost 12 month old shaded sable & white, litter sister to RBOB.\u00a0 Lovely head to handle, clean and correct wedge, great underjaw, well placed stop and eye.\u00a0 Good back skull and ear placement spot on, ears tipped when focused.\u00a0 Great neck leading to well placed shoulder, good depth of chest with nicely sprung ribs, strong legs with good bone and neat feet.\u00a0 Topline very good leading to slight rise over the loin, tail set good and tail of reasonable length.\u00a0 Cracking rear angulation.\u00a0 Good thick double coat. Overall profile very pleasing.\u00a0 Movement good with ample reach and drive, though she needed to settle initially but pulled it together for the Bitch challenge.\u00a0 Was thrilled to see her later take BiS and BPiS, well done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Junior Bitch (1,0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup> Jerrett\u2019s Coldelee Eternal Sunshine JW<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost 18 month old feminine sable and white girl, beautifully presented by and very attentive to her handler.\u00a0 Pretty head of correct proportions, eye placement and shape good, earset a fraction low but ears carried well and tipped perfectly.\u00a0 Long feminine neck leading to reasonable front, perhaps a touch steep in upper arm.\u00a0 Lovely neat feet.\u00a0 Level topline with correct slight rise of loin, tailset good and length good.\u00a0 Rear angulation fair but would prefer a shorter second thigh.\u00a0 Movement fair with good reach but slightly narrow behind today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post Graduate Bitch (2,1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup>: Richardson\u2019s Celeste Uta Anyaru of Lizoni (Imp Cze)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14 month old blue merle of reasonable colour.\u00a0 Clean head, not too deep through and nice underjaw, stop breaks too low but nice shaped eye and good back skull.\u00a0 Earset spot on and ears nicely tipped.\u00a0 Good length of neck leading to good front angulation with well boned legs and neat feet. Chest well sprung and of good depth.\u00a0 Lovely level topline leading to good rise over the loin and good tailset.\u00a0 Tail of good length.\u00a0 Movement a little erratic in her class but pulled out the stops in the Bitch challenge to show good reach and drive. RBB<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Bitch (1,0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup> Richardson\u2019s Lizoni Va Va Voom<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two year old tricolour bitch who presents a good profile.\u00a0 Head is great to handle being of correct proportions with good underjaw and skull not too deep through. Lovely dark eye and good back skull, ear set good and ears used well and correctly tipped.\u00a0 Nice neck leading to good front angulation, good bone and neat feet.\u00a0 Chest well sprung and of good depth.\u00a0 Good topline leading to slight rise over the loin, tailset good and tail of reasonable length. \u00a0Front movement a little high stepping today but great drive from the rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veteran Bitch (1,0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup> Hartley\u2019s Ch Foxearth Finnish Spirit at Jimjack Sh.CM<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight year old tricolour bitch with a lovely clean head, well placed stop and eye, though would prefer a slightly darker eye.\u00a0 Ears slightly wider set but well tipped and lovely back skull leading to good neck and well placed shoulder.\u00a0 Slightly steep in upper arm but legs well boned and lovely neat feet. Well sprung chest of good depth.\u00a0 Topline okay, tailset good and tail of reasonable length.\u00a0 Rear angulation good.\u00a0 Movement okay but not the drive of her younger competition.\u00a0 Lovely old lady enjoying her day out and I was pleased to see her take BViS later in the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
